We are committed to providing exceptional care, support, and education to all our children.
The Montessori method is an educational approach developed by Italian physician Maria Montessori. It has been popular all over the world for over 100 years.
The approach focuses on independence, hands-on learning and a thoughtfully prepared environment that allows the child to grow in all the main developmental areas.
Here at Apple Montessori School London, our children are split into three groups. Our Toddlers for our little ones aged 1-2, Our Pre-Montessori for those aged 2-3 and our Montessori for our older children who are preparing to start school.
Our Toddler Room offers a warm, nurturing and homely environment where little ones can feel safe, happy and secure. Our experienced staff follow each child’s individual routine to ensure consistency from home to nursery, while providing a balance of cosy rest areas and stimulating play opportunities. Through sensory play, music, movement and interactions we support early development and encourage curiosity, confidence and emotional well being always with plenty of care, reassurance and cuddles along the way.
A typical session for our Pre-Montessori children would see the children start their day with a special circle time involving all of their participation, and a story time. The group then split into mini groups, and enjoy painting, music and dance, jigsaws, numbers, colours, free-play to name just a few.
We encourage our children to engage in our free flow facility within the Montessori Classroom. This allows each child to develop as an individual, engaging and learning from the activities that interest them the most. It is with this in mind that we develop our weekly and individual lesson plans for the children in our care, we produce their next steps, and challenge their development.
For any of the children who wish to engage in quiet or rest time, we provide a quiet relaxing atmosphere away from the rest of the children for this purpose. Children may simply rest, or read a book, or indeed sleep. All of this is discussed with you the parent to ensure continuity of care for your child. After this we return to our routine above, until home time.
